Asus NB Probe et al

My brother was having a discussion with someone about programs such as Asus NB Probe (monitors your stats such as memory, temps, fan speed, hard disk capacity etc..).

Apparently it's not good to leave these applications running all the time because they flash your motherboard constantly which apparently is not good?

Any truth to these claims? (I have Asus NB Probe running in the background usually so now I am a little worried)

Thanks.

There is nothing wrong with Asus Probe. I dont use it, but it's still ok and doesn't use up any resources, it just checks for an update once in a while and that's about it. It'll prompt you for updates if there is one. So don't be scared. But of course, if you dont have a problem then you may not care for an update. Similar to the Windows Updater- if you dont want it, you can toss it. It's a really tiny program and nothing to be alarmed about.
