Ibm 600e keyboard issue

As stated I am having some issues with my keyboard and before trying to find a replacement I figured I would ask. The QWER and UIOP keys on the 600e dont work sometimes, ocassionaly a reboot fixes this but not always. Is the keyboard going bad or is it something else like me hitting some secret key to disable these keys? Has anyone delt with this before? I have searched Ibm's website high and low without any results, as well as a few search engines. Any help is appreciated.

if ur under warranty, you can get a replacement and they're easy to install urself.

If it continues, well then it may be shorting with your mobo. But you need to dismiss the easy stuff first.

It could be a bad keyboard, but you can try reconnecting the keyboard's ribbon cable to the motherboard... that is, if you know how to access it.
