Well the Dell site says PC100 memory, and your Newegg link is PC133. It may work, but it can conflict with the 64mb already installed. Don't know if it'll down clock. |

Weird...seems like this laptop's specs keep changing on me. I could have sworn there was PC 133 in there...and I thought it was a 600Mhz P3...now its 501?
With one 256MB stick, I would have to take one 32MB stick out...the thing I was wondering about was the height more...sounds like there are short, and tall SODIMM's...and there is only enough room for one that is 1 1/4 inch tall...I am unfamiliar with SODIMM's...so I don't know... |

Dig, Ex.
The CPU is probably a 600MHz. Intel uses a "Speed Step" that underclocks the CPU when using battery power. So, unless you're freading a 501MHz CPU when on AC power, it's completely normal. Copy?
Also, to ther best of my knowledge, all SODIMM is the same height. I've personally never seen any "low profile" or the like.
BTW, I sent you a PM. I might be able to help with the RAM |
