Battery compatiblity

I have two HP laptops. One Pavillion 5000, the other an Omnibook XE3-gf. The batteries fit both respective battery compartments, but are not the same part number.

The Omnibook: NiMH, 10.8V, 4000mAH, Sanyo part # 9HR-4/3AU
(says "Replace with HP F2024A LiIon)
The Pavillion: LiIon, 11.1V, 3600mAH, part # HP F2193

Can I use the LiIon in the Omnibook without damaging the laptop?

I'll get this figured out, then I have another question.....maybe a different thread....

I don't know...I would be worried about the different voltages...
