Not sure if this will help, but Ive damaged a few laptops by trying to use parts that were not identical to the ones I was replacing, and it SUCKS!!!!
For example, I put a P3 700 into a laptop that had a P3 500 in it and all was good for a while. Then the unit "just stopped working" like a week later. Something quite similar happened when I put an LCD on a HP Pavillion that came from an HP Omnibook. Both of those units will not even POST now. They are dead. The power LEDs don't even come on anymore.
If I were you, I wouldn't chance it unless someone is absolutely certain those two are interchangeable
