i just bot IBM Thinkpad R503 series
Product: ThinkPad R50e 1834-U3G
Operating system: Windows XP
Original description: P M 735(1.7GHz), 256MB RAM, 60GB 5400rpm HD, 15in 1024x768 LCD, Intel Extreme, CDRW/DVD, Intel 802.11bg wireless(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 10/100 Ethernet(LOM), 6c Li-Ion batt, DOS license
NOW My Doubts:::- i am new to this wifi and laptop stuff,so dont laugh guys
1.I put in an external GPRS slot and tried connecting to the intranet,,it did connect and then said some kind of conflict!
please let me know what to do
2.Whats the difference between Centrino and using GPRS connection to connect to internet,,,i mean thro Centrino,,u can use a cable to connect to laptopn and then connect to the internet??? confused
3.when i went to the IBM webste and tried to update some of the drivers,and i selected a option called Detect My system Automatically,,,---after a while, window popped up saying thers some registry error!! and cant detect the system!
i hope that doesnt mean theres soem problem withthe harware!!
i am trying to re-intall WinXp sp2,,as the guy who installed it at the shop was WinXP only!
let me know if u have any ideas!
4.In the Device manager,,there is One thing which i am unable to Install called base System,,somethin like that, i tried to install from the IBM CD,,but it doesnt!!
how do i know what the Base System is or what kind of driver do i need to dwnload from the internet???
5.It doesnt have a Bluetooth,,and sincei have only 2 USB ports,,is it ok, to put an External Bluetooth and which Bluetooth(with what transfer rate) shud i use?
