compaq presario 2100 series modem driver

Hey my dad has a Compaq Presario 2100 series laptop, the actual number is 2190US and he had some weird thing happen to his computer where it became best to just format it. When i reinstall windows on it i cannot seem to find the drivers for the modem, i also cant find them on any site. They seem to have alot geared towards network cards and other stuff but nothing for the modem. Maybe someone else will have better luck at finding them.

So in turn i come to you I have run out of ideas, the laptop didnt come with drivers only 4 recovery (quick restore) CD's that dont seem to work, the system hangs when i use them. If my memory serves me correct the modem is some sort of a Conexant 56k something. Any help would be greatly appreciated, hopefully someone else has had a similar problem and can help me out

too bad.. it didnt work... Windows couldnt find the drivers for my device in the stuff i downloaded from Conexant Arg!!! WHY DOES COMPAQ HAVE TO MAKE THINGS SO HARD

You just have to remember that hewlett packard owns compaq. If you google "compaq support" the first hit is hp's support site.

Edit: Hey, they don't have the 2190US modem driver? I have a 2170US laptop & they have a modem driver for it. I seem to remember Windows Update having a driver for the modem too.

my brother has a Compaq Presario 2100 and i had to format it for him with the operating system it came with since the recovery failed to work and now is hard for me to get the modem driver, so i cant use it in browsing please what do i do.

its not just a 2100 presario.....
on the back, you will see the actual model number
mine actually was a 2100US, go to those driver pages and u will find your modem drivers
