Help Disabling DVD burning feature on IBM T30

HI all,

I am in need of some help. I have a IBM thinkpad T30. I need to find a way to disable the DVD burning feature on the internal DVD burner so that I can hand it off to someone else so I can get a laptop upgrade. My manager does not want the burner in the hands of another employee and the only way I get an upgrade is if I can disable the burning feature. The DVD still needs to work as a CD/DVD player it just cannot burn.

Any thoughts ??
