IBM ThinkPad R40 Anyone have one?

I'm helping a friend get her R40 up and running. She purchased it from a business sale. The only thing it came with was the laptop and the power cord. It is running Windows 2000. The license on the bottom of the laptop is for XP Pro. I thought I could use my OEM copy of XP Pro and use her key. Everything worked until I booted into Windows. It wants me to activate Windows and it says the CD key is invalid. I've tripple checked the key for any mistakes.

Ideas? Does anyone have this model? Maybe you could make an ISO of the CD and FTP the file to me?

Mine came with XP Pro and you get all your recovery stuff on a hidden partition on the hard drive. If it has w2k on it, then chances are that partition was trashed.If you contact Lenova/IBM within 30 days of purchasing the laptop, they will send you 4 CDs with all the same stuff on it. The CDs are only good for that specific laptop and not all R40s. You could try going to Lenova and getting thier updater software but I think with the official copy of XP Pro gone, it may do no good.
Worth a try, though.
