Hey and Welcome To TechIMO!

First off, I would not suggest a cpu like that for a laptop. They are energy hogs compared to other cpus and you won't have too much battery life, and I have no clue why it is only using pc2700 ram either.

How much are you looking at spending and what is the laptop for? Work, Schooling, Gaming on the go, programs such as AutoCAD, Photoshop?

check out the dell e1705, a much better deal for the money and 2 hours is no problem for the battery, you could also go with the e1505, which is more portable but has a smaller screen and less graphics power

either way here is a $750 off $1999 coupon
NNVGFS0DFL$Q2X

don't worry if you are not ready to buy yet there is a new coupon for the same thing every week

Sorry, but I would absolutely be looking at mobile pentiums right now...
cooler, less power consumption and great performance

Yea, the P-M is about as good as it gets for laptops at the moment.

The Pentium M is far better for Laptops than anything AMD has.

So, drop the AMD CPU and go for an Intel.

RobRich is in posession of my review of Dell's Latitude D620 and is incredible. 4 hour battery life on regular use and ~2.5 hour use on full load.

Edit... some specs Core Duo T2300, gig of RAM, 6 cell 53 Whr battery, and 60 gig 5400 RPM drive. Lots of battery saving mechanisms, like the CPU is always running 1 GHz unless it senses a load needing it to go up to 1.66 GHz.
