upgrade to a IBM A22m

I'm running a Thinkpad a22m with 256mb ram and an 850Mhz CPU not much i can do about the processor but i think i can upgrade the memory. Does anyone know what the maximum memory this thing will take and can anyone give me advice on how to actually do the upgrade....i tried to google but the info i kept finding was rather confusing and conflicting......

Numerous sites and the manual say 512mb is the max memory on that model.
