Buying new gaming laptop, input needed!

I am looking to purchase a new gaming notebook which can play the current crop of games, and stay in the price range of $1000 - $1700. I've looked all over the net, and come up with numerous options. However, I have narrowed down the search to cyberpower pc. They have a myriad of options, with a seriously competitive price (not sure how they do it, probably are terrible computers or crap tech support or something ). Anyway, I have come to you, looking for advice.

There are a number of options, but there are four different configurations which I have narrowed it down to: Pentium Core Due 2.0 + with a Nvidia Go 7600 or ATI Mobility X1600 OR AMD Turion 64 2.0 + with a Nvidia Go 7600 or ATI Mobility X1600. In your opinion am I going in the right direction to fit my specifcations (laptop which can decently run the current crop of games for $1000 to $1600) and if so, is this the right company to buy them from? Furthermore, which of those four combos (Proc + GPU) is the best for what I am looking for. Thanks in advance.

out of those choices i would go with the core duo and 7600

but have you taken a look at dell, you should be able to get a core 2 duo and 7900 GS within your budget

Unforuntatly no, the cheapest is around $2,300 w/o tax or shipping, and thats pretty far out of my price range. Otherwise I would have definitly gone for the Dell XPS M1710. Thanks for the quick reply, but do you have more details? Why the Core Duo, is it now more powerful for gaming then the AMD? As for the GPU, I thought the X1700 was slightly more powerful, because of the xtra pipelines. Am I wrong? Thanks again.

Thanks for the respones. MadeInMexico, that ibuypower is almost identicle to one of the possible cyberpower pcs I'm looking at. The e1705 is a great computer, one I didn't see before, nice find. However, do you know which is better for gaming these days...a simlarly clocked Core Duo mobile or AMD 64 mobile option. Also, is the Mobility X1600 or Go 7600 more powerful, or are they to similar/even to matter. Thanks again

I am also in the look out for a laptop that is small and has a core2duo and atleast a 1600 or 7600. Well here is what I learned. The Core 2 duo (centrino duo New edition ) is much better than the Turion IMO and would have better battery life. It is hard to find many vairitie with 15" or below. I wont buy a Cyberpower or Ibuypower. The best you can do on a 15" dell is a X1400.
alienware has some nice ones as well but $$ more.
I learned out that Acer and Asus is in the proccess of finishing up a 14" and 15" machines with in 1 month. This is what I will be waiting for.
I would love to have a W3J from Asus, (* note the new one will have core 2 duo) with a x1600 and i belive 2gigs or 1 gigs. I dont know the exact price.

let me give you and others a link on laptops with the core 2 duo.

look at the new asus and acer. there awsome. I would trust a Acer or Asus brand over a cyberpower/ibuypower build on a battleron ....
I hear MSI makes good setups too.
My budget increased from $1600 to $2000
These new laptops should be smoking..

good idea erhan. after much searching, i came across

http://www.powernotebooks.com/configure.php?special=337

Its basically a Core Duo ASUS with an X1600 and some other great components to boot. It is also fully custamizable, which I love. It has a competative price, and the company it is from has amazing customer support satisfaction. I think I will go with them. What say yall?

What is that information based on? Overall I heard they are both good, with the X1600 being slightly more desirable if you can deal with ATI software.
