Compaq Presario 1700 Laptop

Hi all

I have a Compaq Presario 1700 Laptop, model 17XL365. It has a Pentium III 700 Mhz cpu. I believe this laptop has USB 1.x built in, but got a confliciting report of it having USB 2.0. I believe that this laptop was built in 2001, and USB 2.0 came out in late 2003- early 2004, right?

Anyhow, does this baby have USB 1.x or 2.0??

Any advice is appreciated!!

I have a Presario 2100 (P4M Celeron) which is a couple years younger than the 1700 & it has a pair of USB 1.1. I guess it's safe to assume you are also running USB 1.x.

I have a 1700 T and replaced the hard drive when it failed with a 60 gig.
The battery life sucks on it but other than that it has pretty good. I bought it new for $1200 in 2002. Thinking of selling it to buy an internal wifi with CD / DVD burner and goodies. Any advice on good laptops to buy.

Acer, HP, Alienware, Compaq, and Dell (depending on which one it is). I've only used an Acer Aspire that I got when I took a road trip to E3 a few months ago. I thought it was pretty good for playing games (not on their highest settings obviously) and running emulators.
