Intel Core 2 Duo vs. AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core TL-6
I'm looking at two HP laptops. Theres a 14.1" that has Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T7300 (2.0GHz/4MB L2Cache), compared to a 12.1" Tablet w/ touchscreen w/ AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Dual-Core TL-64(2.2GHz/1MB). I believe the intel is better, but I just wanted to make sure. Would the difference be that big, because the only reason I'm considering the AMD is because of the size. I'm not sure if a 14.1" is small enough for me to carry around and to class. I for sure would not like a 15", but I think a 14.1" would work. And I do like intel a little better. But if I could get a few opinions in on this, it would be very much appreciated.

I would go with AMD
There are two reasons I would go with the AMD. First of All it is faster. The Intel clocked in at 2Ghz while the AMD at 2.2Ghz. When it comes to mobile processors there is basically no difference in performance between AMD and Intel, All that matters is clock speed. The other reason is that the AMD is a Tablet PC which is pretty cool.
I'd say unless the Intel version is significantly cheaper than I would go with the AMD in your case.
I actually think screen size shouldn't be that big a deal. I have a 15.4inch wide screen HP laptop and they aren't that heavy. Like 7 pounds total. Thats just my opinion of course I'm actually looking to get a 17inch laptop.
hope that helps.
Also the processor won't make too much of a difference I would focus on RAM and Hard drive size in this case because of the close clock speeds.

Not True
The Intel Dual Core T7300 (2.0Ghz) beat the AMD TL-66 (2.3Ghz) by 15%. The Intel's are faster. See the shoot out here: AnandTech: Mobile Platform Wars: AMD vs. Intel
