| My new Laptop got low frame rates in WoW
My new asus fj3p its got a intel core 2 t7200 cpu and a ATI Radeon X1700, 2 gigs ram, im only getting like 25 fps right now in orgrimmar. Im on 1280x768 resolution and settings are conservative, figure 1280 dollars should get me better fps. Ive taken out all the crappy aplicatons it ships with too.

Cmon anybody? I cant even run 3dmark06 I get like 1fps, I re-installed the vga drivers and tried tweaking settings and I get nothing. A $700.00 laptop could smoke this thing out of the water. NOT HAPPY |

Check to see if your laptop has a switch or a button that changes it between battery conserving mode or Performance mode (On my aunt's laptop, the settings are Stamina and Speed)
Also, are you playing the game while running on the battery or while plugged into an outlet?

DirectX 10 is not a problem. Even though your card is made for DirectX 9, Direct X10 is backwards compatible with DirectX 9 video cards.
Check to make sure that all of your video card drivers are up to date.
Your laptop should be getting around 2000 3Dmark 2006 Scores.

To make sure that it is on high performance, is your LED power light always on?
Also, when you upgraded to Vista, did you follow the Asus Vista Upgrade guide and use the Asus Vista Upgrade driver CD?

Places like Best Buy will offer a service where they will upgrade your system to Vista. The reason I ask this is because according to the Asus website, your laptop does not come shipped with Vista.
Also, I need to know if your power led light stays on, not how bright your screen is. I can put my laptop into power conserving mode and still have my screen set to the brightest setting. |
