i did say 200 gigs, but i wasnt very "strict" on that, im using a computer with only 40 gigs right now, so i think that 160 should be enough, altohugh, now that i think of it, one more question.

is it worth the extra rpm? im fine with 160 at 7200, but i can get more memory at 5400, will the lower rpm change my gaming experience?

Definitely go with as high of an RPM drive as you can afford.

ok, the only thing is, the dell only comes with 5400rpm, the hp can have 7200, but the dell has the better graphics card. im just wondering what kind of a difference the extra rpm would make. basicly, will the dell (lower processor, better graphics card, 5400 rpm drive) still be better than the hp (better processor, lower graphics card, 7200 rpm drive)

In that case, I'd get the HP with a faster processor and hard drive.

I just got an Asus G2s and it took me a while to decide what to get. I wanted to get an upgrade for the faster RPM HDD, but decided to get the 5400 and if I thought it was too slow I could always upgrade. I was detered because I read and heard from people that faster RPM uses more battery and causes the laptop to run hotter. But most choices should be made based on practicality not technicality.

I mean how long are you planning to use your laptop on battery? Like how long are your classes and how much time will you have to charge in between? Are you going to be able to plug it in while in class? Is it going to be sitting on a desk in your house plugged in most of the time?

i wasnt really thinking of that, but i did buy the best battery option with the laptop, and it should run for a while using word and stuff, i dont exactly plan to play games in class.
