I just bought a Motorolla K1M/L7C Krazr phone. I then purchased Motrolla Phone Tools 4.0 and a usb cord. I go to install the phone, and it does it's deal and said device not found, tried to pick it off the list, but it is not there. The list has L7 and L7V. But they will not work. My phone is not locked, it says I have no drivers installed for it. Where can I get some?
Thanks!
ps. I got Verizon Wireless |

What OS? You probably should've installed the drivers before you plugged in the phone. USB is wierd that way sometimes. Check Add/Remove Programs for anything relaed to the phone and check Device Manager for any reference to the phone. Uninstall everything and reboot without the phone attached. Run the setup again, reboot again, attach the phone and see what happens.

I have windows xp on a dell dimension 8400. I am plugging the phone into a usb port on the front, of wich there are two. I have never used either the entire time I have had the computer wich is at least two years. I had to blow the dust out of them, the one it will not recognize at all. The other it recognizes the phone. Com port something or other.
I tried that, deleted everything, re-installed. Same thing, plug phone in, it beeps, starts installing hardware for my phone. Gets all the way to like 93% then says does not recognize my phone. And the software says right on it, for k1m krazr.
When I plug phone in, device manager comes on, new hardware discovered or whatever. I click the thing, and it says no drivers found for device. I need to know where to find the drivers, they must not be on the disc itself because I have even selected just search D drive, no where else. |

You may have to cancel Window's automatic search for drivers and specify the location in the Add New Hardware Wizard. |

hello,
open device manager and see what pops up when you plug the phone in. it should show up there, either as a mass storage device or a USB modem. this behavior can be changed by going into the settings -> USB communication.
verizon pretty much sucks and does not allow for a bunch of stuff and we - err - motorola does not have alot of control over that.
if you need extra help please feel free to pm me.

When I turn it on, it does appear in the device manager, as "other" "Motorola Kam/L7C" I click on it, update driver. I have the software disk that motorola gave me for this program. No drivers found. What do I do? |

Finally found the drivers, still not insalling the device on the motorola software though.
It sends me to a page to choose it from, and there are 5 motrolla modems, nothing saying krazr. No clue wich one it is. And after installing the drivers from the website I found, it says successful. Then a minute later it popped up from device manager that an error may have occured? But as soon as driver went in I got all those motorola modem things in my device manager. I do not get it. |

Technology for the non-technological; ya' gotta love it!
You need to call your phone tech support people. It's very difficult to help you figure this out with the limited info we are getting. How did you finally "find" the drivers, BTW? |

I found the drivers there. I downloaded, run program they installed, found it all. Then when I started teh motorola program up, it did it differently and did a setup as if it recognized it.
As for non technological...I have got one of the most popular phones, a cd made for it, cable made for it. Considering how many people get this, how can it not be point and click. Honestly, as for tech support, I would wrather ruin the phone screwing with it than call there.
Starting to think I am never going to get my neopets background on there =( |

If I were you, I'd go here, regester your phone, and get all the tech support you need. I think you made a mistake going to a third party website right out of the shute. |
