Most of the time when I've taken lappy's apart, I've never had the intention of putting them back together..lol
Sorry, I'm no help here....If anything consider this a bump... |

Have you tried checking the manufacturer's website? They will typically have the best documentation for anything involving their own models. Especially if you got a manufacturer's approved CPU upgrade, they should have docs on how to replace it. I know with Dell that they will show you how to replace just about everything. |

Hey sweeper2,
I have the "Maintenance and Service Guide" in PDF format for the Compaq NX6110. If you want to PM you e-mail address to me, I will send it to you via e-mail. It is a 3MB file.

You first have to get the keyboard off. There is a memory compartment on the bottom in the cneter. Open it up. There are 2 star screws that hold the keyboard in. Loosen and remove. On the display side of the keyboard there are 4 clips that need to be slid away from the screen toward the mouse pad. Then the keyboard should role out towards you. Keep in mind that there are still wires connected to it. Under the keyboard is the heat sink. Remove it to get to the CPU
Hope this helps.
