Pretty sure you can't. Although, I don't currently own one.....yet
But they use solid state hard drives. Which are really pricey for the amount of space it offers. Your best bet would to be get an external drive, and keep all the "storage" data on there.
If you want to get real fancy, get a external network HDD. So you can remote into it from school, and still have access to all of your data.
Good luck |

ooo Thats a good idea didnt think about network drive, i could have it share with the 1tb network drive im going to use for my HTPC (as if i really need 1tb for tv =P) whats im wondering though is if the SSD thats in the eee pc is about the same size and a standard laptop drive... why not just put a 20 gb in it or somthing like i got an 80gb i bought for 80 bucks... they could have saved money and not had to mess with SSD, although when i think about it it would reduce alot of heat and less moving parts... |

True. I think the big requirement was the speed. The hole setup is based on a speedy on the go notebook. So I think that's why they went with SSD.
I'm really not sure if it uses a normal sized drive or not though. Like I said, I don't have one yet.. |

when u get yours, are you going to keep it linux or go to windows? and just an FYI for some reason newegg removed ( least thats what it seams like ) the 3.5 hour black Eee PC, it was deleted from my saved list aswell as when u click on it it redirects you to a search for Asus products |

I'm keeping linux on there. If anything, may switch it up to run Enlightenment just to streamline things a bit more.
I really haven't got the *one* picked out yet. Still looking around. It's mostly gonna be for my g/f. She's sick of her dell notebook, and she wants something small and portable.
I think this fits the bill nicely, especially at the pricing point.. |

Whats Enlightenment?
Hows this drive look far as network goes, though it makes me sad that it doesant support NTFS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822154170
And what do u think about how originally ppl were ultra hyped cuz it was going to be 200 but on release SUPRISE 350-400. Alot of ppl called it a POS just because the price doubled though i still feal its a great deal (even heard some ppl got Quake 3 to work on it with 2gb of ram) |

And IMO, you should stick with something that supports NTFS. Prevent future problems, and just make it easier all around.
But really, the best way to go, is get an external enclosure that has network hookups, then get the drive of your choice. It's probably a hell of a lot cheaper too. -Enclosure- |

But it's open box also, which your taking a risk on. I've had somewhat good luck with newegg and open box items. Only had 2 motherboards that were screwed up, about 5 others that worked peachy. So really there is a risk there.
If anything, get 2 different cheap enclosures, and 2 500Gig HDDs. 1 for TV, one for everything else. Hard drives are going for $100. So that's $200 on HDD's, which leaves $80 for enclosures, which can be done, I think.
Cheapest one I found is $45 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817348011
