Hi there, Welcome to TIMO.

With a budget of $1500, and wanting to play Crysis, that's a long shot. With the lappy you linked to, it would play crysis on low settings, maybe medium low settings. But I wouldn't expect much more then that.
For $1599, you can get this. Which it has THE fastest dedicated GPU that is available currently. I read somewhere a 8800 version for notebooks should be out soon, but I don't remember when that was suppose to happen.
Good luckLast edited by KarmaKiller; December 9th, 2007 at 04:06 PM.

HI again.
You could change out CPU's, but your going way over budget at that piont. Plus, your ruining any warranty you'll get with the lappy. So it's your call. But I myself wouldn't take that risk. The CPU that comes with the lappy isn't all that bad.
But that's IMO of course...Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

$1500 for a gamer lappy? Just don't see it.
I would rather put together a mid-range 8800Gx based desktop and then buy a PS3 or Xbox 360 for gaming.
And still have money leftover

The 8600 GT won't get anywhere near playing Crysis at high settings, but you won't find anything that can in a laptop.
But that system can be configured to under $1000 with some great parts."The problem with quotations on the internet is that the sources are hard to verify" - Abraham Lincoln

Color me wrong! LOL...wow, guess it's been a while since I looked at lappy prices.
Even not as a gamer, that lappy is a sweet little box for about everything else!!
My bad

This is certainly not a film for the easily-offended. Some may brand it puerile and self-indulgent and let them do so. This is razor-sharp comedy filled with cutting one-liners and some brilliant...
