Hey. I am looking for a laptop. Cost is no object (as long as it's reasonable i.e. 5k or less). I need: a big screen, lots of clock speed, lots of ram and hard drive space, lots of graphics power and a cd-rw/dvd drive. I am leaning towards the Sager NP5620 ( www.powernotebooks.com), but I haven't made up my mind yet. Any advice you have would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin (Geeky1) Geeky1@aol.com |

Hey. I knew there was something I was forgetting when I started the thread. To answer the question of "What will I be using the laptop for?" It will be used mostly for word processing and internet, but the reason I need the power is for games. So, basically I need a ton of power for that reason only.
Thanks,
Kevin (Geeky1)

Thanks for the reccomendations and the welcome. Anyhow, I think I may end up going for either the IBM A31p (model 2653H6U) or the Sager NP5620. The IBM has a 60GB hard drive and integrated bluetooth and 802.11b, which is an advantage, not to mention the ATI FireGL 7800 64mb graphics card. However, the Sager has a Northwood P4 @ 2.4GHz and the ATI Radeon 7500 Mobility, which is essentially a FireGL 7800 without the ISV certification. Any other suggestions? |

i would get the sager. they offer the 4 year warranty for an unbeatable price. I have sold many sagers. I am set up with them to sell them through my store. Have had very little problems with them!

Does anyone have any experience with Sony's Tech Support? I have also looked at the new GRX series, but I know nothing about how good Sony's customer service, warranty, etc. are. |

I have not personally had experience, but have heard it doesn't really exist.. that Sony and Techsupport is an oxymoron..
