Howdy all. Just wondering how many of you get shocked by your laptops? It's a recent development but i don't like it so much. If I happen to touch a screw, or a certain spot on the monitor...ZAP. My network seems to die right afterwards as well... Don't quite know why. Just curious how consurned i should be!

Static electricity from you, or is it something from the laptop? |

-Kevin | as ex pointed out can you tell where the static is coming from? If your rolling around a shag carpet wearing a bear suit i would definitely understand it coming from you but if you are wearing sneakers on hardwood i cant imagine a lot of build up. Do you have any testing tools like a Volt meter? |

Uhrrr, I'm guessing its static if its when your touching a screw, but thats just a guess. I doubt thats supposed to happen either way.

it's not static. It's a constant current. If I don't jump and leave my finger it keeps flowing. lol. It's got to be a short/bad ground somewhere... :-\ I guess that would explain why my battery life suddenly went to shit a little while ago (few months) |

Well, you obviously have a short. And that is not a good thing if you have a well grounded path. You could easily smoke your laptop or burn yourself!
