| Which would you choose?
Right the need for me to go mobile has come, I need a decent laptop to last me at least 4 years! With a powerful graphics card to run some AutoCad software and lighting visualisation software: http://www.castlighting.com/cast/sof...case.jsp?PID=1
I am looking at Macbook pro but running boot camp to run my software and have the benefit of stability of an apple (2.5ghz, 512mb 8600m gt GPU)
Or a Dell XPS M1710 (2.33ghz 512mb 7950gtx GPU)
I would prefer the Mac (can get student discount) but I do not know if it would be up for it?
Can anyone recommend anything for around £1500 maximum with a good long term ability. Or help me decide between these laptops.
Thanks very much! |

I never used a mac, but heard that its not compatible with no.of softwares though its of high secured OS , these days for £1500 , u can get pretty good config when compared to mac..
if u are interested in going for HP, i suggest you Hp DV9780ea powered with 17" Tft ,Core2duo, 2.5Ghz, 4Gb ram, 32 Gb HDD, u can also go for the same model with 2Gb ram and upgrade urself to 4Gb which saves u a lot.
Dell u mentioned is also good if it had a better RAM (atleast 2GB)

For laptops i would go nowhere else but a mac. They are plain awesome. They just work.. And they hardly ever breakdown and dont slowdown like a PC because there is so much less spyware and viruses due to a much smaller share of the market. But for desktops its always a PC because you cant tinker with a mac

Mac's are overpriced. I personally would never buy a mac.
That Dell, as far as performance goes, is very good. |
