So i'm looking at a customers laptop and they say somehow their adapter got switched. It's a compaq laptop with an hp ac adapter. The voltage, wattage, amperage and connection are all the same. As far as I know it should work fine! Is there anything else that should be considered before I tell them that this ac adapter will work fine with their laptop?

HP=Compaq (or vice versa) these days so I really wouldn't see why there would be an issue specially if all the specs are identical. You might check the model numbers just for comparison.

Yes, HP owns Compaq now. You should probably check the volts/amps specified just to be sure... |

the laptop is from before the hp/compaq merger.
the adapter is not the stock for that computer (i checked online)
as I said in the first post the voltage, wattage, amperage, and connector are the same for both the adapter and the laptop. It seems a perfect match to me but I just wanted to double check with you all! |
