Laptop Magically Turned off

hey,, so I was stupid and left the specs at home, however my fault probably doesnt need that.

Ok as stated the laptop "Gateway" after being used on a desk for 8 months decided to shut off, just black screen, no lights, no sound, while in use..

I've browsed around and seen this issue on other threads however i get no lights whatsoever. (if thats a word)

cable to the wall : Green light

Battery : Fully charged

laptop has two lights wich are normally on, one for battery charge, the other for actuall power from the wall. neither of these goes on

my guess is I need to replace the power supply, however ive never taken a laptop apart.. as for warranty, yes i have one,, in America, and ive moved to Germany,, so no i cant use it

It is a Centrio Duo
With Vista Home Premium OEMAct

Dont know how much that will help, maybe some advice as to which plate to remove, and what I would need to start with in terms of replacing??

well no, nothing. the machine wont do a thing anymore, as to before it shut down, nothing unusual, lights and screen just suddenly went out,, GameOver.
