Hello everyone,
A month ago my Vaio VGN-FZ250FE (6 months old) started having problems during boot sequence and before I send it to warranty I want to try anything possible to solve it.
I will briefly describe what exactly happens:
1.- When I press the Power Button the I/O, Battery (if not plugged to the wall outlet), BT & WLAN leds come on. The HD led comes on for about 1 second then it turns off sometimes it will not even come on.
After these nothing happens, it does not matter if I wait 5 or 15 minutes.
2.- The VAIO logo will not appear on the screen but the DVD drive makes the
common reading sounds during start up meaning it is trying to find an OS on it or at least that is what I Rhink. But I really do not know if there is post or not since there are no "beep" sounds.
3.- MOST IMPORTANT is that it only happens when I leave the notebook turned off during long periods of time, lets say 5 or 6 hours. When the problem happens I just keep the Power Button pressed until the notebook turns off after this I turn it on again and it will work normally.
I can even turn it off and then on again and it will work fine, everything normal, as long I use it continously the problem does not occur.
4.- When the problem happens and after I hard rebooted the notebook when I get into Windows Vista the date and time is messed up. I do not know if this is because of the hard reboot.
5.- There are not BSODs or any sign of problems during normal use of the computer, even if I work with it for 6 hours in a row it works smoothly and it is not even hot to touch.
As you could read this is a weird problem so if any of you have had similar issues with any notebook pc please tell me what you tried to solve it.
Thanks in advance for your help and any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
