Does it come with a com port? If so this would be the perfect machine for network admins who have to carry around a laptop to troubleshoot problems at remote sites. If I can get a small laptop that weighs next to nothing and not fast, i would be pleased as punch. It gets old carrying around laptops everywhere. |

I really don't like acer. I have had an aspire for about a year, and it is the slowest, most frustrating pc I have used in years. It is leaps and bounds slower than my former sony notebook, which was like 5 years old. I don't think I can blame the whole diference on Vista.
Instead of the acer, there is the MSI Wind which seems to follow a similar pattern, and now they have it in stock at the eff for $500. 120gb hdd and 10" with intel atom 1.6, and XP.
You can get the Eee with more memory 40-100gb if you get the 10" version, which runs $650-$700.
I have been thinking about getting the small Eee, Karma do you think it would be something worth taking to classes for notes (it is possible to actually type on the keyboard)? Also, I like to have all my computers on a network so I can access files, can you do that between xandros and xp, and vista?
And lastly, I think I also may get the hp tx2500 tablet, you can get it for about $800 on hp's website if you do a quick coupon hunt. I got to try one at bestbuy and was really impressed by the handwritting with the touchscreen. And now they include the new amd chip, and a ati chip, instead of integrated video. The tablet is for me, my wife wants the Eee.

I like Asus myself. I'd like a $400 EEE, but not a $600.
But, the EEE looks awesome to have. But, I love my Lenovo. |
