Alienware is Dell now... Dell owns Alienware, so yeah, its going to be overpriced. can probably get a comparably equipped Dell for a bit less usually.

Nope, cyberpower looks bad. Just configured one and it was coming out to over $700 without a monitor. For this budget your best bet will be to build it yourself. |

Also, you can watch for stuff like this: Dell EPP Inspiron 518 Quad Core Q8200, 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, & 19" LCD for $557
The only thing would be, you *might* need to get a new power supply for a dell to put in a new video card, but if a vid card would cost about $100 and a power supply would be $50, you could come out ahead with buying a prebuilt from Dell. Just make sure you get the regular tower like the 518 or the 530 and not the small one like the 530s otherwise you will not be able to upgrade to a new graphics card or power supply. |

I will probally go ahead and upgrade the proceser at microcenter to a 3.1 mhz but all the rest looks good.. im going to compare the prices.. my friend said he will help me put it together.., |

oh excuse me i meant 3.1GHz... we have a microcenter not to far from here with some nice prices... everything on list looks good though.. thats what i will probally go with.. |
