We can find a list of parts for you. Ordering from cyberpower is definitely an option. I'll take a look at what they've got once.

Alienware is Dell now... Dell owns Alienware, so yeah, its going to be overpriced. can probably get a comparably equipped Dell for a bit less usually.

Nope, cyberpower looks bad. Just configured one and it was coming out to over $700 without a monitor. For this budget your best bet will be to build it yourself.

A respectable system for $448.93

Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives
Newegg.com - ASUS M2N68-VM AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 7050PV HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards
Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100225DDR3L Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards ($15 MIR)
Newegg.com - OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory ($30 MIR)
Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 3.1GHz 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 89W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Elite 330 RC-330-KKN1-GP Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases
Newegg.com - Antec Basiq BP500UB 500W ATX12V Version 2.01 Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies

that should work for you unless you want to go with an intel system which would cost a little more and give a little better on performance. Not sure how much performance difference there will be but the intel core 2 is better than amd's athlon.

then i remember seeing a moniter on newegg for $100 and you can get keyboards and mice in just about any store that sells computers (walmart, staples, ect)

Also, you can watch for stuff like this:
Dell EPP Inspiron 518 Quad Core Q8200, 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, & 19" LCD for $557

The only thing would be, you *might* need to get a new power supply for a dell to put in a new video card, but if a vid card would cost about $100 and a power supply would be $50, you could come out ahead with buying a prebuilt from Dell. Just make sure you get the regular tower like the 518 or the 530 and not the small one like the 530s otherwise you will not be able to upgrade to a new graphics card or power supply.
