Just so you know, iBUYPOWER makes some good performance laptops with great options at a decent price.

This laptop IMO is the best bang for the buck. It has a 9800M GTS which is the fastest single mobile video card offered from the big name brand companys.
This is the best gameing laptop I have found without spending $2,000 or more. My coworker bought one a few months ago and it plays Crysis at High Settings at 1920x1080 really smooth. Gateway - FX Edition Laptop with Intel® Centrino® 2 Processor Technology - P-7805u

That does look like a pretty nice laptop spec wise. After seeing the stuff gateway used to put out in the past I don't think I'd ever buy anything from them though.
I seriously doubt a mobile 9800 GT can play crysis at high settings at 1920x1080. The settings could maybe have been medium, or the resolution was less, but there is no way that gpu would be able to do both and have a playable framerate. Mobile editions are usually gimped pretty badly as well, so that mobile 9800 GT is probably more like a 9600 GT. |

Nope, that laptop was able to play Crysis at 1920x1080 at High Settings (DX9) not Very High (DX10). I didn't have a frame rate meter, but it looked like it was getting around 15-20fps, which was playable. ANd I think his laptop scored around 9500 points in 3DMark.
And from what I have seen benchmark wise, the 9800gts is slightly slower than an 8800gt desktop card.
The 9800gts is still a heck of a lot faster than the 8600m and 8700m that come in the Alienware and dells.

The link I posted even said Crysis was playable at high settings with the 9800M GTS. |

1920x1080 is about 40% more pixels than 1280x1024 which said Crysis was playable at. |

I'm telling you though from first hand experience, that laptop can play crysis at 1920x1080 on High and still get playable frame rates. |
