OK, so I'm ready to order a hi-spec laptop. I've been searching and comparing for 2 weeks, checking benchmarks and ranking of processor / graphics cards on
notebookcheck.net. Some of the sites considered to purchase from are XOTICPC.com, Alienware,
plaisio.gr/, powernotebooks.com
Since I'm investing a small fortune, I'd like some of your opinions.
Firstly - I travel (fly) on a weekly basis for work. My work entails alot of SQL queries. In the evening I like playing performance demanding games. As a basis, the sales Rep on XOTICPC.com suggested a 15".... (according to him 17" is not really made for travel since its a desktop replacement)
Agree?
Second - If I'm ready to invest 2500 Euros for a power 15" laptop, should I instead wait a few months for some newer range of processors (quad)?
Thirdly - If not, it seems the only site offering a faster processor than the T9800, is
www.plaisio.gr/ where the X9100 is on offer in a 15".
www.notebookcheck.net currently has the T9800 ranked as 3'rd and X9100 as second. However, it seems the T9800 has not yet been bechmarked (no results). Which of these two can you recommend? I think T9800 uses DDR3
Fourth - If I wish to upgrade processor/mboard/graphics card at a later date do u think this is possible?
Fifth - Can I upgrade to a solid state HD at any point? (some of the above sites dont have them on offer at all)
Sixth, I'm based in Europe...
