    New HP laptop

Wow,I just got a new Hp dv7-1232nr laptop. And I am sooooo wowed,I bought this thing for $649,just missed the $599 sale, does anyone else have this laptop? I am so ingnorant trying figure out how to use and what this thing can do.

I believe it is bluetooth ? And the ungodly bloated bundle of crap they put in this thing, it has a remote for playing tv I suppose, that would be cool since I am on the road alot, can anyone tell me a little more about this laptop and its features?
I am so far behind understanding ,TV,and blue tooth ability it appears to have.

Well I am getting hard knock education,it appears the bluetooth capability is not really bluetooth. I have a bluetooth set up in my control panel but it would not work with a real bluetooth mouse that operates from the mouse , I was told at best buy that was the case and I needed a bluetooth mouse with a small usb adapter(jeeze) ,I donot have a TV tuner built in an wonder what is available I can get to watch air or cable with this laptop, it is still a very nice machine all in all, I note I went to Staples today and they have taken the sale off of these things they are $799 now. Any advise appreciated.

can anyone help me with what is needed for TV reception on the road, considering I have no tv tuner built into this thing,I figure its gonna be pricey.

figured out I can only use a blue tooth mouse that is equipted with a usb adapter.

I drive a big truck these days is why I wish to look into this. It would make my life a little better, but I am new to the technology.

I see these PCTV usb sticks on woot.com frequently for $75-80. They can supposedly pick up local OTA broadcast channels. IDK how well they perform though.

edit: BTW, that's a nice looking notebook you got & a good price for it too.

Something like this would do the trick for watching TV. There are also versions that operate through USB.

thanks all, I am just not knowledgeable yet about these new gadgets, I gather I have a slot for that card tony j15, I have media set up with a small remote, question is do you have to have a antenna, and when I am on the road I would have to find one I could mount outside, still learning ,thanks for helping.

Also I have never done it,but how hard is it to put movies from dvd on here and watch instead of transporting a box full of them. Is that possible?

It's not illegal to copy your DVD's to your laptop for your viewing. I think a program called DVD Shrink can copy them and reduce their size to save space on the HDD too.

You probably need to google for reviews to see how well the tuner works & if the antenna that comes with it is any good. The Hauppauge that Tony linked is probably better than the Pinnacle that I linked. I have a Hauppauge 1800 in my HTPC & it works well.
