| A deal I need to decide on
Im looking for a good computer, but while willing to spend the few extra $$$ for a setup that will allow some normal or newer games to work, I dont want to shell out the really big bucks.
It should be noted before i put down the price im offerd that computer's and theyre parts are substantially more expensive in Israel, where im from.
The set up is as follows.
Dell XPS M1330
· Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1GHz CPU, 4GB DDR2, 320GB SATA Hard Drive, DVD+-RW
· GeForce 8400 GS 128MB, 10/100 Ethernet + 802.11n, 13.3" LCD, Webcam
· Li-Ion Battery, Vista Home Premium, Fingerprint Reader, 1-Yr Warranty
Its gonna cost my about $1000-$1100
What do you guys think? |

The CPU is a little on the weak side for gaming, and you would probably have problems with the video.
if your going for gaming then don't get a laptop. desktops (with about the same amount of performance) are cheaper.
As for what I would suggest I don't know, mainly because I have no idea how to see what company ships where. |

I understand that and I know that fact well enough..
However, two reasons I need and want a computer ccapable of games.
Im currently working 60 hour weeks in a nursing home, all night shifts, and i need entertainment to help me fight off the sleepies. All emergency calls route to me at night so i dont want to nod off while somones flatlining.
Two is that im moving to Italy for 6 years of studies within a year, and whatever i buy now will be my home computer there.
What im saying is that i dont neccassrily need a "gamers" computer.. but a computer that has some ability with games.
So... this isnt for home use, thus i need a laptop. |

k then. The CPU and graphics is still weak for modern games. Normally I would suggest a barebones laptop with some parts off of newegg, but you said that you live in Isreal and I have no clue if newegg ships there or not.
Try looking for one with 2.5 GHz on the CPU and hopefully a 256MB graphics processor (if you can't find one then 128 will do, but you would have to crank the settings down on moder games). It would probably help if you looked for one with a fingerprint scanner and webcam. |
