Ok, after my first thread similar to this one, I managed to stumble onto a laptop company that I think I might really buy from.
Here are the specs for the 2 customized laptops that I am thinking to buy and i just wanted to ask which u think is more worth while.

well there's not much to compare... the only 2 differences is the CPU's and screen size.
for $700+ all your getting out of the higher priced one is about 200MHz and 2 inches more screen size (and slight resolution increase too)
its up to you if you want to shell out $700 for a mere 200Mhz increase in CPU performance.
if playing at near 1080 resolution is something you want the 2nd one will be capable of that, but if running in 720 is good enough, the 1st one will be capable of that.
why their configured with XP is beyond me, if its XP 32-bit, the systems are configured with 4GB of RAM + 512MB GPU memory + all the cache memory from the CPU, HDD etc, you'll only have between 3 & 3.5GB of usuable RAM then.
honestly if it were me and shelling out 2 grand for a laptop, especially configured like that I'd be looking into running Vista 64 bit, or at least considering downloading and running Windows 7 RC 64-bit.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Awesome, thanks for the reply ShyguyXPC. xD yeah i know its silly to have the operating system to be on XP, but im just waiting for windows 7 to be released, with the bugs written about it.
I just heard a few things about hardware issues so > . > and im not exactly that big on vista either so xD.

Since this is for gaming (and you have the budget), I would get a higher-end graphics card if the first system had the option to.
i5 3750 | ASUS P75 | GTX560Ti | 8gb Corsair Vengence
PII 720BE X3 @ 3.7Ghz | Gigabyte 790GX | HD6850 | 8gb OCZ Reper

If you want to spend the money and want the performance look at dell xps and alienware (also dell but some different options). With the dell xps M1730 you can get dual 9800m gt's for less than $2K. That is some serious performance.
Alienwares also have some pretty intense performance though they come at a higher cost have a look around.
In either case I would invest some of the savings over what you listed above in some extended warranty/damage protection type stuff, got to protect your invest and all.Reason obeys itself; and ignorance does whatever is dictated to it.

Yeah....but i've been hearing some pretty bad stuff bout alienwares heat issues, and that during shipping it seems to come close to breaking the casing.
i dunno if im wrong about that sorry for missing info on my part.
but do u guys think that the first choice / laptop specs i put up will be able to play fallout 3 on hi or atleast medium?

You might want to check out
Newegg.com - ASUS N50 Series N50Vn-D1 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T9550(2.66GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 4GB Memory DDR2 800 320GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 9650M GT - Laptops / Notebooks

May 12th, 2009, 10:45 PM #8Those two systems just plain suck. They are hardly worth even half of what the price is.the cost of these two are
Ares: $1924
Artourius: $2690
This one will far outperform both in gaming:
Newegg.com - MSI GT627-216US NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo P8400(2.26GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 4GB Memory 320GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GS - Laptops / Notebooks"The problem with quotations on the internet is that the sources are hard to verify" - Abraham Lincoln

Since you have the budget, I'd get this.
Newegg.com - ASUS G Series G50Vt-B1 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T9550(2.66GHz) 15.4" Wide SXGA+ 4GB Memory 640GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GS - Laptops / Notebooks
It destroys both your options in performance, and is cheaper too.i5 3750 | ASUS P75 | GTX560Ti | 8gb Corsair Vengence
PII 720BE X3 @ 3.7Ghz | Gigabyte 790GX | HD6850 | 8gb OCZ Reper
