Two slight problems with my laptop
(It's an Acer Extensa EX4420-5239.)
(1) The Synaptics Pointing Device has a middle button which serves as a 4-way scroll control (you can see it in the pix at the link), but it's stopped working. Device Manager says that the device is working properly. What to do to fix this?
(2) Each time I boot up I now get a message saying that ATI Catalyst Control is not available and that I need the latest drivers -- which I have, according to Device Manager. What to do to fix this?

for problem 1 have you checked the settings in control panel it may not be enabled although the device manager says it is working probably just means it is not faulty
as for problem 2 have you downloaded ati ccc direct from ati it should overwrite the existing drivers and the catalyst control centrethere's someone in my head but its not me
