AFAIK USB 3.0 is only supported in W7 (and maybe vista) at this time so I seriously doubt it. With the card being that new I'd seriously doubt you'd find the drivers to even use is it with W2k but the card manuf. should have that info.

what's the make and model on the card? You should be able to hit the manuf. site and find info for OS support.

I should also say USB 3.0 is backwards compatible so if you could find drivers you might be able to use it just not likely at the 3.0 standard.

    USB 3.0 Express Card

Double check the specifications of the card and your PC

USB3.0 controllers are being released on express card formats not PCMCIA.
PCMCIA cannot maximize the speeds of USB3.0

I know my laptop is PCMCIA and will not take Express Card.

Have you ever seen a PCMCIA card (not Express) that is an adapter for USB 3.0?

I doubt it, USB 3.0 is supposed to have a 4.8Gbps peak bandwidth (600MB/s), but a more normal top speed of 3.2Gbps is expected for most users (400MB/s +/-)

if PCMCIA cards were capable, they'd have to throttle the speeds back to around 133MB/s (from what I've read) or just over 1Gbps, which is still nearly double 2.0's bandwidth, but would be pointless really (especially since USB 3.0 is backwards comaptible with 2.0 and 1.0) .

if I remember right PCMCIA was based on PCI and similar slot interfaces back then, Express Card is based on PCI Express and USB 2.0 or higher bus's and bandwidths.

Anyways I think they either were confused or meant Express Card and got it mixed up with PCMCIA cards.
