Question
Choices Choices

Alright i have a Dell Insiron 4800, i know, i know they don't even make them nemore. It's a quality system and Dell is great but i need a new laptop.

I plan on getting the AlienWare Area 51-m w/
1.8GHz processor (not P4-m but regular P4)
DVD/CD-RW combo drive
512 MB RAM
40 GB HD
ATI Mobility 7500 64MB DDR video card
Sound Blaster
Win XP pro
and 1-yr support
COST: about $2400

little pricey but i have heard AMAZING things about alienware.

You guys have any suggestions for better systems for less money but also with all the services.

I plan on using it for EVERYTHING, lots of music and games, plus some video and picture editing, along with networking

Not really. Alienware puts out some pretty sweet, and high-quality system. And it's just not very economic to try and build your own lappy... I say if you can afford it, go for it!

And welcome to TechIMO!!

That could be a tough one. You may find something cheaper but then that company has usually skimped on something in the package. They have to make their money somehow. Quality hardware with quality service generally costs more not less no matter where you go, imo.

Oh... and WELCOME to TechIMO!

look at www.powernotebooks.com they use the same system as alienware, give you more customizations, and are alot cheaper. only difference is alienware gives you a black paint job and crappy customer service... check out their reseller ratings, you wont find any company with higher ratings...
