    Newegg.com - ASUS N61 Series N61JQ-X1 NoteBook Intel Core i7 720QM(1.60GHz) 16" 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 320GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730

Looking at the Specs, your better off with the Core i5 one, as its 2.53Ghz Dual core. The other one you were looking for only has a 1.6GHz Quad core CPU, that can run up to 2.8GHz when Turbo Boost mode is enabled, which is ONLY for single core applications, otherwise runs at 1.6GHz all the time.

if this is for basic use, then the Quad core one would be fine, and maybe even better with multitasking in some scenarios, but if your looking at any kind of uses like light gaming, and basic uses, maybe even some video transcoding etc, tasks, then the faster Dual core CPU one, the i5 model, will probably run better.

it can run up to 2.8GHz as well in Turbo mode (single core only).

The Core i5 one has only 2GB RAM with it, same speeds as the Quad core model, but half the RAM, which is still plenty to use with Windows 7.

The Core i5 model, has double the Storage Hard drive space.

BUT, the hard drive is a 5400RPM, slower Hard drive, than the i7 models 7200RPM drive.

the i5 model has a 2 inch smaller screen.

and both run the same Graphics chip.

Really depends on what your going to use the Laptop for, and the prices between the 2 models.

    Thanks Shyguyxpc
my main concern is to play not hifi but above average graphic games like crysis2,battle field bad company2, e.t.c.., and also to work on multidmedia stuff like maya,e.t.c,
I thought of enhancing the ram after i bought that k-series laptop (if it is good),

and also one more thing is that the K-series laptop is coming with 2GB of HD5730 unlike Asus N61

when comparing the prizes the k-series is lower than N-series by 100USD,

    link doesn't work.

And the link in your last reply is in Chinese, and can't read it.

is this the Model? ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Notebooks - ASUS K42Ja

If so, it says it can run up to 8GB of RAM, but if your running a 32-bit version of Windows, you'll only be able to use up to 4GB of TOTAL system memory, including Video memory, so with a 2GB Video card, you'll be limited to a Max of 2GB of usable RAM.

You'll need Windows 64-bit to Use the full 4GB of RAM or more.

as to Gaming, the Radeon 5730 is a relatively lower end Graphics Chip for games.

Probably comparable to the Desktop Radeon 5550 and 5570 Graphics Chips in performance.

But should let you run most current games on low to moderate settings.
