RAM- both slots are taken already?

Just picked up a Toshiba A665-S6089 for my son. It already somes with 4gb's of Ram. Upgradable to 8gb's. Was getting ready to install another 4gb in his laptop but noticed both slots were already taken? Was I supposed to have gotten an 8gb card and not a 4bg? Or am I missing something here?

    Thank you in advance.

Not sure if you needed DDR2 or DDR3? But yeah, a 2x 4GB Kit is what you would need for something like that.

Figured it out, both sticks that are already in there are only 2gig's each. HENCE it came with 4gig of RAM. I bought a 4gig stick and now it seems I'm gonna need a nother one.

Rich, my son likes to to video editing and such for church functions. He's gonna try and do the same at school for some extra cash. SO I told him i would ramp up his memory for him.

Shy, that's the exact place I get most of my stuff now.
