    XP Laptop recognizes MP3 Player, but then disconnects

    Help! My Trutech MP3 player & Lenovo (R61E, XP Prof. SP3) laptop aren't working well together. Here's the sitch...

    1. When I plug in the MP3 player via USB cable, the player shows connected for about 5 seconds and then goes dark. This happens on all the USB ports on the laptop.

    2. I tried the MP3 player on a Win7 laptop, and it worked fine.

    3. My cellphone syncs fine (ActiveSync) with my Lenovo.

    So, it looks like the gremlin's in my XP machine.

    But where? How to fix it?

    Thanks!

    Having little idea what you were talking about, I found this. Is this what you are talking about?;
    Amazon.com: TruTech® 1GB MP3 Player - SMP-1GBL: Electronics

    Then I find this;
    Trutech Mp3 Player Complaints - Defective product!

    Why not just transfer the files to the Laptop and play the selections with VLC Player or Winamp if you have room?
