Video Card Upgrade on my HP nx9420

Iv'e looked all over for the answer to this question. I have a HP/Compaq nx9420 and it has a removable video card. I know its pci-e but I dont know what video cards I can buy for it that will surely work.

It currently has an ATI Mobility Radeon x1600 (256MB), It is a great video card for 256 it plays high end games like GTA:4 and Silent Hunter 5. But I want to improve a bit on it, I would like to buy a ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 . They are fairly cheap on ebay. Is there anyone that can answer if this video card will work with my laptop

Wow you may be one of the only ppl that have posted this question that have actually done some homework. From what I see from looking around you are correct you do have an MXM slot. From what I see it looks like its MXM III and AFAIK would not work with the MXM A cards which are a newer standard.

I seen another place that said it was an MXM II - which is it? I can't seem to find out.

Here's a good site with visuals. It might be type II or type III but AFAIK it doesn't matter as version 3.0 Type A-B aren't backwards compatible.

Yeah laptop gpu's are pretty pricey. Mainly because there are so few made that can actually be changed.
