Picking Higher End Gaming Laptop
Hello everyone! I am ordering a custom gaming laptop and I need to pick between 4 set ups. [I can upgrade all the hard drives by 100 gb for about $100-200]. The batallion seems like the best in my mind, as im dissapoined by the Alienware specs. I can't get those any higher. And YES desktops are better but I already have 1 that shreds games and I NEED a gaming laptop, so here I am.
So my questions are:
1. Is having a single 460m bad compared to a SLI 460m? It's hard to find these benchmarks.
2. Which one will allow me to run games on highest performance?
3. Does anyone else have any good recomendations for other high end laptop companies for a PC under 3k?
Thanks!

I don't see any AMD choices. Stop feeding the Wintel machine.
Copyright protection & Intellectual property my ass. All you elitists want is more money & power. Enough is enough!

I find it highly suspect that you "need" a gaming laptop when you have a desktop. No one NEEDS anything electronic, you just want it more than other things.
1. Bad as in what? Are we comparing efficiency? Heat generation? Power usage? What are you looking to compare benchmark wise? Pure FPS in games? Time it takes to render? Performance in something like Photoshop?
2. All of them will run games on the highest setting, one may do better than others though ...
3. I dont honestly think that "gaming laptops" are more than a niche market, especially in the 2k-3k range. With the way the economy is going these days, not many people have 2k-3k range to spend on a "toy" so its hard to say where you can find one unlike say 3-4 years ago when everyone was throwing money around.
Again, the idea of a gaming laptop is almost a contradiction in terms so i wont digress down that path to save you from my personal rants. It seems like the alienware is using older tech as its running dual channel instead of triple channel, has the single 460M instead of SLI, and while it has a larger SSD it may not be the best one available as it may be an older style. Ive never heard of Batallion or Sager and i think Cyberpower is a joke. Not sure i would buy any of them, especially at that price.
Have you looked at a Macbook Pro 17"?
