| No boot No beep No nothing
I have a hp ze1115 lappy thats been running fine for couple months as a cow. My friend (it's his computer) brings me the battery for it and I go to slide the battery in and its a little hard so I shove it in. Well apparently they contacts inside were bent out of alignment and I just made it worse. I straightned the contacts out and Now I get nothing but a couple flashing led's (scroll lock and num lock) back and forth flashing quickly. Tried difffernent power supply's and no help. Screen is black. No beep nothing. The dvd spins and I hear the cpu fan but that's about it. Did I fry something??? I called HP support and they didn't have a clue to the blinking lights ( I thought it might be a code to whats wrong) They suggest to send it in but I don't want to do it. I took it apart and was just looking for anything that might look fried. Nothing found.

I doubt anythings gona 'look' fried. It usually makes a bad smell but it goes away after about an hour.
There should be a monitor port on the back of the laptop. Try hooking up another monitor. If it works, then take the laptop to a local computer place THAT DOES LAPTOPS (many do nowadays, at least around here) and tell em it needs a new screen. They may end up replacing the case or telling you to send it to HP (in which case they replace the screen).
If the monitor doesn't work, either the motherboard or the video controller is out. Easier to replace...but not all that much cheaper (your lucky if the controler is out). Although it could be an insufficient power problem it doesn't sond like it from your description.

It's almost brand new and still under warranty but. Um hmmm my friend got drunk and tried to kill the lappy with a knife (its long story and we don't have a soap opera forum lol).USB ports un-usable, modem unusable, one memory slot unusable and I figured the battery contacts were knifed also thats why battery wouldn't go in right but I didn't look good enough in there before I put in battery. That is another reason I don't want to send it to HP I'm sure they wouldn't warranty it with all the damage done.
swamp. If its mobo can you just buy one?? I already had it apart so I thinkkkk I can replace the mobo myself.
PS: I also took out HDD thinking maybe it was bad but still nothing but the flashing led's. I would hate to send it in and have to pay hundreds to get it fixed.
EDIT: Tried hooking up to another monitor and nothing at all happens.

haha I don't need it. It really is a friend's puter. Well he kinda had good reason. Lets say I have 3 more cow's thanks to his wife. (Who knows for how long)hehe Too bad the monitor's ended up in couple hundred pieces on garage floor.

No no no don't do that he is my friend. I just want to fix this cow I had about 300 pts for eccp and UD-WU at 120 hours on it. darnit. It seems all three I got from him had minor or major problems. I spent quite a few hours on them. This one had the memory all shorted out and wouldn't boot or anything bur error screen but I finally got it working by removing mem stick and cleaning the metal shavings off of mobo and stuff.
