| also problems with S3 twister K!!!
I have the same problem by my laptop ACER Aspire 1300XC. I can't run Age of Empire 2. Everytime I run it, a window jump out and say my graphic driver do not fit the directdraw. But have install the latest driver for Win XP. My friend can even play this game with his laptop with only 8Mb graphic ram. What is wrong?

I'm not to sure. I took my computer in to a shop so they could work it out and they said that i'd have to bye a new 3D card which is worth $1000 (AUD). So i took the game back. Maybe your friend has a better 3D card???? |

Are you sure you only need the display driver and nothing else?
If so, try downloading some old drivers and the newest drivers and see if they give you the same errors! Maybe the newer driver package is corrupted or something! |

thanks.
I tried again and things turned out to be a little bit better. I can see the welcome of AOE 2 and I can configure it and I can select single player or multiplayer,BUT then it jumps from the game back to my desktop. Nothing changed!!! Is it the bug of this so-called good performed graphic chip??? |

Have you tried reassigning more memory to the video card?
S3 video chipsets pretty much suck. The hardware is OK, but the piss-poor drivers kill it. |

thanks you all. The video card memory is shared , max 32 Mb. It is the first time I buy a computer with a shared memory for graphic system. |
