battery
hi, i have a Dell laptop (inspiron 8200).
i wanna ask if, when i have my battery inside the computer, and i have the powercoord in it (like when i work with the computer @ home). .. do i have to like take the battery out? will it like, hm, fry the battery otherwise? or how does that work?

no, you don't need to do anything.
when you're running the lappie off the AC, it will charge the battery if it is not at 100% and no damage will result if the battery is already fully charged.

I keep the battery in, and i don`t think that should shorten the battery`s life ...

are you 100% sure of this? bcoz i wouldnt wanna ruin the battery since they are ¤#&#¤& expensive

hey, if it'll make you feel better, you could always call dell tech support and ask them

i think the general rule is to take the battery out if it will be plugged in for an extended period of time (i.e. over a week or 2)

However i would still deem it good practice to take the battery out if you plan to leave your laptop plugged in and running for extended periods of time such as more than 72 hours.
I also agree with the statement to call up dell support to double check with thier standards for the particular battery that came iwht the notebook just to be on the safe side.
