USB2 Drivers + WinXP Probs?

Anyone here manage to install the supplied USB2 drivers for their 5660/8886 lappys under XP?

According to the instructions, we should double-click setup.exe, and choose Install, yada, yada.

After double clicking setup.exe, nothing happens, no windows, nada, although it's still running according to task manager.

This happens with both the drivers on the CD and the drivers on the Sager website.

According to the instructions...

Note! If there is a yellow exclamation mark on “VIA USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller” or “USB 2.0 Root Hub Device”, please remove this item from the “Device Manager” by clicking the “Uninstall” button and click “Refresh” to re-install this driver again.
-----------

I've tried installing via this method with no luck either...
I certainly don't see anything labeld "USB 2.0" in the device manager...just the stock "USB" stuff....

USB mice work, etc...what brought this abaout was that I just dumped another lappy HD into an external USB (2.0( enclosure...and needless to say it is butt slow...slower than a floppy (yes the HD is tested and good)....

Just as an update.....

I took the enclosure and plugged it into my desktop w/ USB 1.0 and Firewire...both worked almost immediately, thus confirming it's not the drive/enclosure...

To get the USB drivers to install, I had to unpack the xp*cab, and installed by choosing 'update drivers' and pointing to that directory...everything is still butt slow on the lappy though...

Only hitch so far with the 5660 tho..
