Okay I'm in the market for getting one of my friends a new laptop. She'll pay for it but she trusts my knowledge about computers even though I explained to her I know two things about laptops and one of them is jack. Basically I have all the information I need except this one question I still have. I have the option of getting a 1.6 GHz Celeron or a 1.8 GHz Pentium chip in it. the computer is going to be mostly used for internet, MS office, and DVD watching (most likely wired into a TV). the Celeron chip makes the laptop 100 dollars cheaper. Is there a significant difference in the performance of these chips for those tasks? I mean it's not totally critical, but 100 bucks is 100 bucks and 100 bucks can buy a lot of ummm stuff.... Or would it be worth sinking the money into the better processor? It's going to have 256 meg of ram and a 20 gig hard drive and a 16 MB video card. Thanks.
