| Best Buy + HP: How to NOT service your customer
I bring to you the very reason I will never buy another name brand laptop, nor any further products from Best Buy; and this is why I'm happy with Sager and PowerNotebooks. http://today.icantfocus.com/blog/arc...ntries/000136/
UPDATED:
My apologies, and thanks to GroundZero3 for forgetting/adding the strong language warning. :-)

yah the first line in the article is like 12 swear words at once
if i was the guy i would demand a replacement on the spot. no wasting time on getting repaired as they cant do it.
Plus now that i think about it best buy sells sonys and toshibia and other laptops why send it to best buy repair shop? they didn't build them why have a best buy tech repair it? doesn't that void the warranty?

It takes a lot to get my angry. But Best Buy has managed to accomplish the task and prime the power keg.
Any why BB? Keep in mind, this is an older laptop which is really the womans...
My last purchase was a Sager NP5660 from PowerNotebooks. |

Jason | Just a FYI --
I have had several customers lately come in and tell me that when they called Dell CS concerning problems with their notebooks, they got a tech from a call center in India. They complained that they were hard to understand, didn't know anything about computers (other then what it said on the screen based on key words), and tended to get caught in loops the tech couldn't get out of.
Ended up selling 3 of them HP's to replace their Dell's.

An update for those who were following...the girlfriend called the store and asked when the general manager would be on duty...here's what she went thtough..
---
Ok so the general manager is not in the store. Talk
to duty manager named Adrean. I tell her the story,
she does not apologize, she does not ask me for my
number so she can check the computer, she tells me how
lucky I am I bought a service contract and that after
this repair they will replace it!!
I lectured her about having never heard an apology
from anyone there, and having not been shown the least
bit of curteousy by anyone. She told me how lucky I
am that I am their customer and their repair folks are
the best team there!! Unbelivable.
I ask her how she would feel in my position
considering all I just said.
Greg Hopper is the general manager, he is not there
until Thursday afternoon.
I am so angry that my hands are contracting!
---
Nice huh? |

Bestbuy is a horrid place, period. Doesn't matter what you buy there, it just sucks.
When I got my Sony notebook direct from the Sony website, the service was excellent, I got called on the phone the next day to verify stuff and hardware, and everything went smooth as butter.
Bestbuy.. heh you should know better anyway, being internet savvy.. if you buy anything from those stores, you are the schmuck.

as a final form of revenge for the many times i have been neglected as a customer at best buy, i performed a sickening move.
For some reason, bestbuy had not booted up their common "browse" program that prevents you from being able to actually experience the laptop/desktop computer. Sooo, i had a buddy there with me, and we scanned the computers thoroughly and decided that we would attack about 80% of them, most of which were about 1000-2000 in cost. In XP, we tuned it for the best looks, and went into msconfig, checked every box there was to check, limited system memory to 128 on every one, and on the ones that already had only 128, we shot it down to 96. needless to say there were slower than crap, and even worse we would drag icons such as solitare, hearts, etc into the recycle bin, as well as deleting many programs.
Their service team was so busy sitting around talking about how they ripped this customer off, and how they had a pep rally that rocked that morning, they never noticed us leveling the play field out there. the only ones we didn't touch were actually decent computers... sigh... it was worth it
Lets see if they can pick up the slack |
