New Toshibas? (Which Toshibas have the "Super Fine Screen"?)

To make a long story short...

I recently ordered and returned an Inspiron 8200 because I mistakenly ordered UXGA instead of UltraSharp due to inconsistent use of terminology on the Dell site.

I am now unable to get the same great deal I would have gotten had I order the right screen, so I'm just cancelling the order altogether.


I am now looking to get a Toshiba notebook with the "Super Fine Screen" (as I noticed it referred to in this forum) similar in quality to the Dell "UltraSharp".



QUESTIONS:

1) Which Toshiba models feature the "Super Fine Screen"?
I noticed that Toshiba does not use the term "Super Fine Screen" anywhere on their web site although I was able to see a reference to it on the NVidia site (don't remember the URL).


2) I did notice that Toshiba references the term "Toshiba Personal Theatre Display for wide angle viewing" on several of their models that are UXGA. Is this the same as "Super Fine Screen" which is equivalent to Dell "UltraSharp"?


3) When visiting several computer stores in my area that carry the Toshiba line, I discovered that they are selling out of the top end models in an apparent anticipation of newer models.
Does anyone know anything about new Toshiba notebooks soon to be released? I haven't found any news about this.

Hey I don't know the answer to your problem, but I thought I'd pipe in and let you know a while back I saw a Toshiba laptop at Circuit City with the Personal Theatre display... and man I was almost considering purchasing the $1500 laptop instead of the $300 LCD... it is truly a work of art...

Haven't seen the dell UltraSharp or Toshy equivelant so, as I said, I'm not much help, but if you do decide to go with the Personal Theatre they are awesome!

BTW Good luck with your laptop purchase (future)... Lemon[H]ead purchased an iBook this week that should be coming soon and I am about to wet myself with excitement.

Man I know this is off-topic, but Cody - I am right with you. The iBooks now are just sweet! Ah! If only I could afford an iBook AND a Sager - I might give up desktops altogether (yeah right!).

Yeah.. I am actually still considering the 17" powerbook. I'm not sure how the viewing angle compares to the UltraSharp or the "Super Fine Screen" (or whatever Toshiba is calling it).

Also, I like to fit as much code on my screen as possible, so I was hoping to do better than the 900 pixel screen height on the Apple 17". Maybe that wont matter so much though as I've been coding on an 864 pixel screen height for the past 6 months.
