| I need to bypass admin password
I have a Dell Latitude C400GT & need to remove/circumvent admin password. I recently upgraded my bios (Phoenix) from A01 to A14. My Service Tag# is: 5677B if that helps. Thanks for your anticipated promt help in this matter. |

Welcome to TechIMO!
Have you tried clearing the CMOS via the motherboard jumper or removing the CMOS battery for a short while (at least 10 minutes to be safe)?

Are you talking about the password for the CMOS settings or Windows?
If CMOS, then what Martoch said, by jumper or removing battery. |

Is the admin password within windows (if so, what version), or else the bios? |

I guess I just assumed it was the CMOS password because he referenced upgrading his BIOS. Could be wrong though...wouldn't be the first or last time. |

If it's under warranty, you're probably not going to want to open it up to get the jumpers/battery.
Depending on the BIOS of this laptop, sometimes there are default passwords that can be used. |

| That's the list I was just looking for.
You might also need to call them. That's according to this
Of course, that is if we're talking about the CMOS password, and not Windows. |
