Well I just went back to Tom's hardware today and saw in the news column that the first centrino-based laptops are being announced.
Finally, something to give apple a run for its money. The Centrino notebooks seem to be fast, featured (including combo drives and wireless network cards, as well as the most powerful current graphics chipsets) as well as being as thin as the PowerBook G4's. One laptop even claims 8 hours of battery life?
Methinks things are going to get REAL interesting soon...

The Dell Inspiron 600D has a SXGA+ screen @ 1400x1050
while the 800D has the widescreen WUXGA+ ultrasharp @ 1920x1200
Is the WUXGA+ worth the extra money and size? |

I believe I read that the 1.3 or 1.4 Pentum M outperformed the 2.0 Pentium 4M. Intel is starting to give in to the fact that mhz isnt everything. They have to because a Centrino is way more expensive than a regular Pentum 4M. Also, the Pentium M is alot nicer to your batteries, so yah, thats what I think. |
